On-Line Forums Module
The disadvantage of e-learning as opposed to “face to face” training is that Learners cannot pose questions to the instructor to have them answered immediately.
The “On-Line Forums” module can alleviate this problem by facilitating an online question and answer session between Learners and Trainers. This is extremely useful when the Learners and Trainers are geographically remote from each other.
Learners can communicate with their Trainers at specified times for the on-line forum to have any questions answered immediately by their trainer.
The “On-Line Forums” module in Armelenos has been designed for organisations that want to provide on-line mentoring and discussion groups for their Learners. They allow you to create ‘communities of interest’ for specific topics and have people that share the same interest to talk to each other in real time chat sessions.
Fostering communication between Learners that have similar interests is a great way of allowing them to share their knowledge and assist each other when learning new skills.
A record of any On-Line Forum discussions can be stored by the Trainer to file so a record of the discussions can be kept for future reference if required.
The features of the “On-Line Forums” module include the ability to:
  • Create question and answer sessions between Learners and Trainers;
  • Allow geographically remote Learners to communicate with each other;
  • Create discussion groups for different ‘communities of interest’ in Armelenos;
  • Allow Trainers to specify times for on-line forums when communicating with Learners.
