Learning Content Management System (LCMS) Module
In the ideal world a single e-learning tutorial will cover the specific topics for a given job function within your organisation. However, in reality e-learning tutorials will omit topics which are relevant to the users and include topics which are not. The solution to this is to be able to pick and choose topics from a number of tutorials and collate them in the one tutorial.
The e-learning content in Armelenos is comprised of SCORM objects (SCO’s) and AICC learning objects, which make up the training courses for Learners. These existing learning objects can be reused using the LCMS module to create new courses.
Only one instance of a learning object is required in the LCMS and it can be used as many times as required when creating new training courses.
No duplication of content occurs in Armelenos because when a new tutorial is created Armelenos simply links to the original content. This means that any changes that are made to learning objects are automatically propagated throughout every course where they have been used.
To a Learner it appears as a new training course in their courseware list, which they use as normal.
The features of the “Learning Content Management System” module include the ability to:
  • Support both AICC and SCORM learning objects;
  • Use both AICC and SCORM learning objects in the one training title;
  • Create new training titles with a flexible course structure;
  • Reuse learning objects to create new courses without replicating content;
  • Update training content and have all courses which reference this content automatically updated;
  • Rename learning objects in new courses that have been created;
  • Set pass marks for learning objects in new courses that have been created.
