Bulletin Board Module
Fostering communication between Learners that have similar interests is a great way of allowing them to share their knowledge and assist each other when learning new skills. This is also very useful when the Learners are geographically remote from each other.
The “Bulletin Board” module in Armelenos has been designed for organisations that want to provide on-line bulletin boards for their Learners. They allow you to create ‘communities of interest’ for specific topics and have people that share the same interest communicate with each other by posting messages to the bulletin board, that other people then can respond to.
Bulletin boards differ from the on-line forums in Armelenos as the on-line forums require the Learners to be online at the same time to communicate with each other. With bulletin boards the Learners communicate by posting messages about specific topics that appear on the bulletin board. They are then free at a later time to return to the bulletin board to read any replies that have been posted.
The Bulletin boards in Armelenos can either be moderated or un-moderated. If a bulletin board is moderated, each posting that a Learner makes must be approved by their Manager before it is visible to other Learners.
The features in the “Bulletin Board” module include the ability to:
  • Create bulletin boards for different ‘communities of interest’ in Armelenos;
  • Allow geographically remote Learners to communicate with each other;
  • Allocate bulletin boards globally to all Learners within Armelenos;
  • Allocate bulletin boards to groups of Learners;
  • Create Un-moderated bulletin boards;
  • Create Moderated bulletin boards.
