Armelenos - Just What You Want!
|
We have been listening to our customers for over 15 years and you have told us that there is no single solution to training people that fits the needs of every organisation.
These learning resources cost valuable time and money so you need to ensure that they are being used effectively, achieving positive learning outcomes for people, and being delivered on time and budget.
To help manage your learning resources we have created “Armelenos”, a powerful modular Learning Content Management System (LCMS). Armelenos is modular so that you can choose just the features you want right now, and add new capabilities as you need them in the future.
Armelenos can function from a simple LMS reporting and tracking on e-learning courses, or you can add more functionality such as:
• Classroom training and management for face-to-face training;
• Messaging to alert people of new training events and information;
• Cost analysis for internal budgeting and/or invoicing for third party training services you have provided;
• Storage repository for documents and learning resources that can be opened in a web browser;
• Management of physical shared library resources like books DVD’s etc;
• Verification of people’s identity for on-line assessment tests;
• Homework assignments for students;
• On-line forums and bulletin boards for assisting collaborative learning;
• Podcasting of live or recorded teaching sessions;
• Survey forms to provide feedback from users regarding the training;
• Setting personal learning paths for people by mapping their job roles and skills to the available training;
• Creating an internal repository of job skills that can be searched when vacancies occur.
Regardless of the size of your organisation, Armelenos can help you achieve “just what you want” at a price you can afford.

Module - Learning Content Management System (LCMS)
|
The Learning Content Management System (LCMS) module in Armelenos allows you to create new courses from existing ones.
The e-learning content in Armelenos is comprised of SCORM objects (SCO’s) and AICC learning objects, which make up the training courses. These existing learning objects can be reused using the LCMS module to create new courses.
This is useful when you want to tailor “off-the-shelf” courses to your own specific needs or re-use information that occurs in multiple training courses.

Module - Document Repository
|
Training content comes in many different forms, and can be structured in various ways. For example it may be important to a users job function to read the contents of a web page or a document that you have provided to learn how to perform a specific task.
The “Document Repository” module in Armelenos provides an easy way for you to utilise the various training resources available to your organisation that you want to allocate to users.

Module - Library Resources Management
|
|
The “Library Resource Management” module in Armelenos has been designed for organisations that want to catalogue, monitor and manage their library of physical training resources. These library resources are typically books, magazines, videos, CD’s, DVD’s and audio tapes, which are available for loan by the students or employees of an organisation.

Module - Competency Testing
|
The “Competency Testing” module on Armelenos has been designed so that assessment tests can be created quickly and easily to measure the skills of people.
Assessment tests can be used before training is undertaken by Learners to ensure that they have the required minimum skills to attempt other forms of training.
Assessment tests can also be created for post-testing so that you can measure the skills of people that have completed training. This could be a training course that was provided in the classroom, or a training course that was provided via e-learning.

Module - Authorisation
|
The “Authorisation” module in Armelenos has been designed for organisations that require the authorisation of a person’s identity, before allowing them access to certain content that is stored in Armelenos.
Typically this occurs when Learners are required to take competency tests and you need to make sure of each person’s identity before they take the on-line tests. This helps prevent cheating as each person can be verified before they get access to the test by a supervisor using photo ID like a driving licence or employee card.

Module - Messaging & Proactive Reporting
|
An essential part of a good training environment is to keep everyone updated with the latest training information. Learners need to be informed when new training resources are available.
You can keep Learners informed of the available training resources in the organisation by sending messages on how to access training courses, as well as messages about assignments and training courses that need to be completed by a specific time.

Module - On-Line Forums
|
The disadvantage of e-learning as opposed to “face to face” training is that Learners cannot pose questions to the instructor to have them answered immediately.
The “On-Line Forums” module can alleviate this problem by facilitating an online question and answer session between Learners and Trainers. This is extremely useful when the Learners and Trainers are geographically remote from each other.

Module - Classroom Training Management
|
Often organisations use a blended learning approach for their training needs. This often involves “face to face” training provided by instructors in classrooms. “Face to face” training often involves different components such as e-learning, competency testing and assignments.
The “Classroom Training and Management” module in Armelenos allows Trainers to plan and schedule “face-to-face” training activities within an organisation, which makes it particularly useful if a blended learning approach is desired.

Module - Cost Analysis & Invoicing
|
Sometimes it is desirable to attribute costs to the various training activities within an organisation so you can determine the return on investment (ROI). This allows you to demonstrate the effectiveness of the training by showing the associated costs in relation to the financial outlay.
The “Cost Analysis and Invoicing” module in Armelenos has been designed for organisations that wish to assign costs to their training resources, and work out a return on investment (ROI) cost of their training activities.

Module - Assignment Management
|
Assignments are a good way to gauge the skill levels of Learners as they demonstrate their understanding of the subject being taught. Traditionally assignments are given to Learners by their instructors, and then manually submitted by Learners once they have been completed.
The “Assignment Management” module in Armelenos allows organisations to set assignments for the Learners, which they download and complete.

Module - Bulletin Board
|
|
The “Bulletin Board” module in Armelenos has been designed for organisations that want to provide on-line bulletin boards for their Learners. They allow you to create ‘communities of interest’ for specific topics and have people that share the same interest communicate with each by posting messages to the bulletin board, that other people then can respond to.

Module - Feedback & Survey
|
The easiest way to identify the views and opinions of the people in your organisation is to have them complete a survey. Traditionally surveys are paper based, which means that in order to obtain meaningful information from the results, someone is required to analyse the data.
The “Feedback and Survey” module in Armelenos allows organisations to quickly create surveys and feedback questionaries for Learners.

Module - Podcasting
|
Podcasting is the method of distributing multimedia files such as audio programs over the internet, for playback on computers or mobile audio players like MP3 players.
Podcasts are often used for radio shows but other uses include school lessons, conference meetings, and the distribution of messages to people.
The Podcasting module in Armelenos allows Learners to link to podcasts that are available to them, and then the relevant audio files are automatically downloaded to their computer or MP3 player.

Module - Capability Framework
|
The Capability Framework module in Armelenos allows you to create a job skills repository and is the final piece in the jigsaw if you want to create a training environment that defines the specific training needs for each person in your organisation.
By associating the training you are providing with the required skills (referred to as capabilities) for the various job roles within your organisation, you can create personal learning paths for people and provide the necessary framework to ensure they achieve their training goals.
